Formwork & Concrete Estimating for Subcontractors — Plus the Business Support to Back It
If you run a formwork or concrete subcontracting business, you already know how much goes on beyond the job itself. Tender after tender. Drawings that change. Builders who push back on your claims. Cash flowing out faster than it comes in. And somehow you're supposed to measure the next job, write the quote, chase the variation, and still be on site at 6am.
Perform exists to take the estimating off your plate — and to help you build the kind of operation where those other problems start to solve themselves.
This isn't a service you sign up to and get a file back. It's access to something that hasn't existed in this industry before: comprehensive estimating, business guidance, and a direct line to the most reputable builders and subcontractors in the market — all under one roof, and all completely confidential.
What We Do for Subcontractors
Most estimating services stop at the basics. Perform doesn't — because the initial numbers are only ever a small part of running a job properly.
-
Complete formwork, concrete, and structure take-offs using Bluebeam, built around your pricing method — not a generic format you have to reformat before you can price it.
Columns priced per column, per m², or per m³. Walls per LM or per m². Stairs per riser, per level, or per flight. Every BOQ is structured from the start to take you from original tender through to claims and variation stage — the same document, updated as the job evolves.
Included with every take-off:
Formwork stripping quantities (soffit area, soffit steps, beamsides, edgeboards)
Lineal metres of edgeboards and beamsides, column stop ends
Number of frames and jacks (where applicable)
Clear Bluebeam markup to accompany your quote submission
-
On complex formwork and concrete projects, your BOQ comes with a written breakdown of what to watch — drawing inconsistencies, scope ambiguities, and items that commonly cost subcontractors money if they're not caught at tender. This isn't a generic checklist. It's specific to your job, from someone who's stood on the formwork.
-
Every Perform client receives a signed confidentiality agreement before any work begins. Your drawings, pricing, business information, and commercial discussions are never disclosed to any other party — including other Perform clients.
In an industry where everyone knows everyone, confidentiality isn't a courtesy. It's a guarantee.
-
Perform clients gain exclusive access to a curated network of reputable formwork and concrete subcontractors and quality builders across Australia.
If you're a subcontractor looking for the right builder relationships, or a builder searching for a reliable formwork subcontractor, Perform makes introductions — but only to those who meet the standard. No cold directories. No blind referrals. Merit-based connections that benefit both sides.
-
If you're just starting out as a formwork or concrete subcontractor, or if you've been running for years and things still feel messier than they should — this is where Perform goes beyond estimating.
We help you build the foundations your business needs to run properly and present professionally. That includes:
Business setup and standard practices — how your operation should be structured, documented, and presented to builders
Quote letter writing — professionally worded submissions that clearly communicate inclusions, exclusions, and scope
Capability statements and expressions of interest — documents that get you on tender lists with the builders you want to work for
Company documents — policies, ITPs, toolbox talks, timesheets, variation sheets, daily sign-on sheets, blank variation booklets
Scope of works review — we read, mark up, and summarise the scope so you know exactly what you're signing up to
-
Cash flow problems kill good formwork businesses every year. We help you understand where your money goes, how to calculate your real operating costs, how to set your rates so you're actually profitable, and how to structure your progress claims so you're not constantly chasing payment.
Cash flow analysis and management guidance
Fee and charge-out rate calculation
Business cost breakdown and overhead recovery
How to price a job to protect your margin
-
Every time a builder issues new drawings, your scope potentially changes. Most subcontractors miss these changes — or don't know how to document them in a way that stands up.
We prepare comprehensive drawing comparison markups and BOQ updates that show exactly what changed between tender and current drawings. You get a clear, defensible record for every progress claim.
Variation preparation and documentation
Drawing revision comparison markups
Contract review and scope clarification
Variation booklets formatted for builder sign-off

Preliminary formwork designs tailored to your project and your business — prepared to send to your engineer for approval at a reduced cost. From approved designs, we can also produce material take-offs: number of frames, jacks, bearers, and props required.
Note: designs require approval by a registered engineer before use on site.
"I don't just send the quantities and that's it. When it's a complicated job you get a breakdown of things to be aware of — things to look out for that might cost you money. And this service isn't finished. Bounce feedback off me so everyone else who feels lost can benefit too." — Fabio Henriques, FOUNDER
